About me:
While I have worked or volunteered in a variety of education settings throughout my professional life, community colleges have always been my favorite. I originally started out in the tutoring field and have since made the switch to advising, but in either case, I have greatly enjoyed being in a community college setting. On the practical side, I enjoy helping students understand what exactly they need to do to graduate and/or transfer, how to register, etc.
On the personal side, I am always willing to talk to students about what is frustrating to them and to try to find solutions for their issues: college is more than just “grade 13”, and it can certainly feel strange if one is returning to school after years of working, so it is important to have someone to talk to about those challenges. I'll also happily talk to you about football and pie, although you tragically can't schedule an appointment for just that!
