About me:
In 2018, I earned my Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in History from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. I then worked as an AmeriCorps volunteer for a nonprofit that supported immigrants and refugees who wanted to learn English and develop skills for the workforce in their new country. This was a temporary position, and I was a little lost on what I wanted to do when my volunteer service term ended. I was offered a position as an admission counselor at my alma mater, and this is where my love story with higher education and direct student support began! Since that time, I have earned my Master of Arts in Postsecondary Education: Student Affairs, and I have worked in a variety of college settings, though I have found that my true passion lies in helping community college students navigate the wild west of higher education. Moving to Minnesota in 2024 was the best choice I have ever made, and I am so happy to be here at Normandale! When I'm not at work, I'm hanging out at home with my cats and my husband, working out, baking chocolate chip cookies and sourdough (my specialties), and singing as a soprano in my local community choir.
