About me:
I earned my B.S. in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Unaware of what to do next, I tried out a career as an international flight attendant in Chicago for three years. When the airline I worked for went out of business, I decided that I needed a career change and moved to Minneapolis to enroll in their graduate program in Education (Leadership in Student Affairs emphasis) at the University of St. Thomas.
Orientation and academic advising at the college level really energized me and left me feeling fulfilled. I’ve worked in various roles both here in the Twin Cities and at Rutgers University in New Jersey, primarily in orientation, college access programs like TRIO and GEAR UP, Student Activities, and for the past five years – Academic Advising. I am passionate about helping both new and current students figure out what drives them and how to apply this to a major and career. It’s not as easy as it sounds!
Outside of Normandale, I spend a lot of time hiking with my Boston Terrier Rue, traveling, reading, and writing. As you may have noticed – my personal and professional path was not straight. We can change our minds, make mistakes, pivot, and still not know exactly what we want to do when we “grow up.” With that said, I am looking forward to getting to know you and helping you to figure out the best path for you here at Normandale and beyond!
